10 Watt, Class IV Therapy plus light surgery laser for a low sale price - email for details.

The New Trio Laser is the first in the veterinary industry - therapy, surgery and dentistry!

The laser is designed to be primarily used as a class IV therapy laser, but it can also be used with a surgical handset to perform small surgeries and soft tissue dentistry procedures.

How does the Trio laser (therapy mode) work?

When photons of light penetrate the skin and tissue, they are absorbed by the cell and converted into energy. This alters the cell membrane permeability which triggers many cellular events which include the following:

  • Stimulation of ATP production
  • Increase in DNA and RNA synthesis
  • Enhanced collaged synthesis
  • Increased levels of beta endorphins and serotonin
Is laser therapy new?

The effects of red light on cellular function have been known since 1880, though the clinical benefits were only realized during laser safety tests in 1967.  The first low level lasers suitable for treating pain became available commercially in the late 1970's; thereafter, laser therapy has been widely utilized in Europe by physical therapist, nurses and doctors.  After FDA approval in 2001, laser therapy has quickly gained popularity in the U.S.

ls there any pain or side effects associated with Class IV laser therapy?

The Trio laser treatment is painless and has no side effects when applied by a veterinarian or certified practitioner. During treatment, your pet may experience a soothing warmth.  Some animals even fall asleep during treatment.

How is the Trio laser different than other laser therapy devices?

The previous generation of laser therapy devices was Class III lasers, or cold lasers whose power ranged from 5 to 500 milliwatts.  These lasers penetrate only millimeters below the surface.

The Trio laser is a Class IV, high powered therapy device with an adjustable power range of 500 to 10,000 milliwatts and 10 watts of power that allow for a far greater range of treatment protocols.  They penetrate 4 inches below the surface into deep tissue.

How many laser sessions are necessary?

Acute conditions, particularly those with significant pain, may require daily treatments.  Chronic pain conditions respond better when treatments are received 2-3 times a week; reducing to once a week and once every other week thereafter.  Check with your veterinarian or practitioner for recommended treatment times for your animal.

Are there any safety risks associated with Class IV laser therapy?

The Class IV Helia Laser is extremely safe. However, it is not used over the eyes due to the sensitivity of the retina therefore, people administering treatment, along with patients, should wear protective safety glasses.  Please see our safety manual for additional information.

What advantages does laser therapy have over other forms of treatment?

Laser Therapy does not require the use of drugs or surgery and there are less side effects or risks than other forms of treatment. Depending on the injury, results can often be noticed within the first or second treatment.  In addition, it can often achieve results faster than other treatment modalities.

Is heat used in laser therapy?

The effectiveness of Laser Therapy is not dependent on a thermal effect.  The healing energy is delivered to the tissues directly and not through heat.  A heat sensation is an indirect effect due to increase in circulation to the treated area.

How are Laser Therapy treatments administered?

 Treatments can be administered:

  • Direct on acupuncture points
  • Trigger points
  • Directly over injury or lesion
  • Over nerve trunks

Treatment Contradictions

Laser Therapy should not be used in the following areas:

  • Areas of hemorrhaging
  • Eyes
  • Reproductive organs
Laser Therapy should not be used with the following medications or conditions:
  • Heart Disease
  • Corticosteroids
  • Photosensitive Conditions
  • Carcinomas
  • Pregnancy

Key Benefits

Clinical studies and trials of Class IV laser therapy have shown the following benefits on tissue and cells.

PAIN RELIEF

Laser Therapy has a beneficial effect on nerve cells by blocking the pain transmitted by the cells to the brain which decreases nerve sensitivity and reduces the perception of pain. This results in decreased inflammation and reduced level of edema. Pain is also decreased due to the production and release of endorphins and enkephalins, which are natural pain-relieving chemicals released from the brain and adrenal gland.

IMPROVED NERVE FUNCTION

Laser therapy speeds up the process of nerve reconnection, often eliminating pain, tingling and burning.

ACCELERATES CELL GROWTH AND TISSUE REPAIR

Photonic Laser Light penetrates deep within the tissue to accelerate cell reproduction and growth.  Laser Light increases energy to the cell, which helps aid nutrient absorption and waste removal.  The result is accelerated healing of muscles, tendons, ligaments, and even bone.

ENHANCES IMMUNE FUNCTION

Photons of laser light are directly absorbed by chromophores (molecular enzymes within cells) that are embedded within most cells of the body. This laser light absorption activates a specific enzymatic process that triggers the production of ATP (adenosine tri-phosphate)  ATP is the single most important form of energy that powers ALL chemical reactions within ALL cells of the body. Higher energy production leads to faster and more efficient function – especially true of immune-specific cells that are exposed to Laser Therapy. This improved efficiency aids the immune system in fighting off undesirable microbes and pathogens.

REDUCES EDEMA AND INFLAMMATION

Laser therapy reduces edema, inflammation and congestion by activating vasodialation that promotes proper lymphatic drainage.

SPEEDS UP HEALING AND REDUCES SCAR TISSUE FORMATION

Laser therapy increases blood flow to injuries, which increase the rate of healing and reduces scar tissue.  laser therapy has proven effective in treating burns, wounds, and surgery sites.

ACUPUNCTURE POINT STIMULATION

Laser Therapy is an effective alternative to traditional acupuncture treatment. Laser Therapy stimulates acupuncture and muscle trigger points providing musculoskeletal pain relief and better flow of blood or "chi"
